Shamin Durrani:
Shamin Durrani is an entrepreneurial woman whose determination and strength know no bounds, as young mother and wife her one dream was to have the best education for her children. With no qualifications to make claim to and no previous experience that would speak of her ambitions and aspirations Durrani was told she would amount to nothing, and her dream would never come true. However, her sheer passion, dedication and willpower made her one of the most successful Business women in the UK by creating several businesses. Durrani has shared her success by setting up charities all around the world and now she wants to offer her guidance and support to young men and women by sharing her experiences.
Haseem Shah:
Haseem Shah is a second year Economics and Management student at St Edmund Hall. Originally from Ilford, Essex, Shah studied at grammar school, Ilford County High.
Shah took a gap year to undertake an 8 month Actuarial Consulting internship at Deloitte and has since gone on to secure spring internship offers at ten different investment banks, ultimately, securing a summer internship with a derivates desk in Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management. Shah is heavily involved in the Oxford University Islamic Society and, as part of his role on the executive committee, he is in charge of all social, welfare and access matters. Also, as a Student Ambassador for his college, he is keen on wider University access and mentoring school students via numerous schemes. Shah aspires to continue his career in Finance, looking further ahead for opportunities in Islamic Finance. He will also provide advice about how to apply successfully at these big institutions since he has been very successful in the application process.
